TRAFFIC came to a standstill in Warndon this morning as mourners turned out to bid farewell to a well known Worcester woman.

Around 1,000 people turned out to say goodbye to Christell O’Shea, of Birdlip Close, Warndon, who died aged 39 on Sunday after a battle with cancer.

The talented singer, also well known for her fundraising, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2008.

A tribute was read out by Stephen O’Shea, Miss O’Shea’s brother, written for him by Karen Baldwin.

“Christell would often say they broke the mould when they made me,” he said. “Christell was much loved by all who met her."
