A NEW eco-building has opened at a Worcestershire school following four years of tireless fundraising.

Staff and pupils at Grimley and Holt Primary School are celebrating the completion of the building, which will house their nursery children from September this year.

The building is made from 100 per cent sustainable materials and cost £115,000 to build.

Headteacher Helen Hoarle said the new building was much-needed.

"We were desperate for a new building — it was either build a new pre-school or this new building because we needed more room for the nursery children," she said.

"After various fundraising events, grants and donations from local businesses it is finally ready to use from September. It looks fresh and modern inside and the children are really looking forward to learning in it."

The school is holding an open day where people can look around the new building from September 3 to September 5.

The grand opening of the building takes place on September 27 and people can also go to a family fun day at the school from 12 to 2pm.
