CHILDREN at Pinvin schools put their best feet forward when they took part in a football tournament to mark the end of term.

Youngsters from Year 7 at St Nicholas Middle School organised the event for pupils set to start the school next year to improve their own leadership skills and welcome the newcomers.

Matt Modley, Year 7 teacher, who helped with the tournament said they all enjoyed it.

"The tournament was for the Year 4 students at the school next door," he said. "Basically it was to help the transition from the first school to the middle school.

"I was hoping for them to develop their leadership skills as well. There was a core of students who organised the event, they raised money to buy medals. So it was trying to develop their leadership skills while promoting PE as well.

"It was a great afternoon."
