WINYATES Post Office is getting a makeover and will be opening as a new-style Post Office ‘local’ service, with significantly longer opening hours for customers.

Customers can access a wide range of Post Office and mails services, including special delivery, local collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.

Other services include withdrawals using a Post Office card account, send funds abroad using Moneygram, and customers can pay bills, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.

The service, which is located at Winyates Centre, Redditch B98 0NR, launches at 1pm on Wednesday, August 13 August, and will be provided at the retail counter in the store, where the Post Office terminal will sit alongside the till.

The current branch closed for the work to take place tomorrow, Monday, July 28 at 5.30pm.

While the makeover is carried out, people can use the services of nearby Matchborough Post Office, in Matchborough Centre, and Greenlands Post Office, at 170-172 Studley Road.

When the work is complete, customers will be able to access a wide range of Post Office services during the shop opening hours, which means the branch will be open for an extra 63 hours a week, including Sunday opening, making it more flexible and convenient for local residents.

Peter Wilkinson, area manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

"We are confident that this vibrant new-style post office at the heart of the community will be popular. The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme that is enabling us to continue investing in the Post Office network and to map out a bold growth strategy through to the end of the decade."
