HEWELL Bowling Club rounded off their very successful centenary year with a visit from the Imps, a team of established bowlers who tour the country to play in friendly matches.
During the year Hewell has already enjoyed visits from Bowls England, the Barbarians, Midland Counties, the P&Es and St Fagans, a club from Wales which played Hewell 100 years ago at the opening of the club's green in 1914
To celebrate the centenary year, Hewell has already had captains of the visiting teams plant a centenary tree, unveiled a centenary clock and buried a time capsule with instructions in the clubhouse that it should be dug up on the bicentenary in 3014.
Anyone interested in joining the club or taking up bowls can contact Sheila Williams on 01527 524093 or Paul Heathcote on 01527 404495.
