STOURBRIDGE residents are invited to an event which aims to get people talking about what happens when they die.

The free 'embracing dying' event is being run in conjunction with Mary Stevens Hospice and funeral directors H Porter and Sons and will be held in the healthy hub at Mary Stevens Park, off Heath Lane, Norton, on Saturday (October 4) from 12.30am to 2.30pm.

And a second session has been arranged for October 18 from 2pm to 4pm.

Organiser Cathie Green said: "In the Western world we mostly shy away from talking about death and dying and yet it is a fundamental part of everyday life. In many other cultures death and dying is still connected to everyday life and not shied away from or feared.

"These sessions will allow people to start talking about death and can often lead to people feeling relieved that they are able to share their thoughts and feelings with others as well as their fears and questions.

"There will also be a number of people at the events who can answer questions that people may have on any level."
