FOUR horses were killed on the A449 at Stourton last night (Wednesday October 1) after being hit by a truck.
The incident happened near Prestwood Nurseries at around 7.50pm and left the road closed for more than an hour.
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said the four horses were dead at the scene and the Highways Agency was called out to clear the carriageway.
The driver of the Volvo tractor unit was uninjured and the road re-opened at 8.55pm.
