A NEIGHBOUR is angry that trees are being felled in the car park and beer garden of a Worcester pub.
The Sebright Arms in London Road is under new ownership and has recently gained planning permission from Worcester City Council for a pub restaurant on the ground floor.
The city council communications manager Ron Byrne said none of the trees are under a protection order.
He said the pub had "every right" to cut down trees in its own grounds.
But pub neighbour Don McIver, of Sebright Avenue, said the trees were part of an ancient avenue of trees to Battenhall Manor.
He said of the felling: "It's just spoiling the ambience of the place, although there are one or two trees left.
"The trees were part of the avenue, part of the history of the place."
The Worcester News contacted Sebright Arms publican, Lloyd Jones, but he declined to say why the trees were being felled.
