MORE than 45 festive stalls packed into the covered Christmas market on Sunday at The Fold, Bransford, where local craftsmen and traders showcased their colourful stalls.

Items from hot food to jams, herbs and works of art were on offer and visitors were treated to carol singing and Christmas songs.

The Fold is run as a not-for-profit community enterprise and centres around a refurbished barn at New House Farm. Its ethos is to create an inspirational space to encourage sustainable living through designers, artists, complementary therapies, real food, plants, events, festivals, courses and workshops.

Claire Whaler, from Malvern, who owns Little Felty Feet and has been selling Fairtrade wet and dry felt children's slippers, bags and brooches from Nepal for the past two months, had a stand at the market.

"I've been selling them for about two months now and travel around the district to markets and craft events. They are traditionally made in Nepal by talented artisans and very hard-wearing," she said.

Music was provided for the stall holders and visitors from Clarion and carols were sung by Minor Tremors.
