GLOUCESTERSHIRE residents still have time to have their say on plans setting out the next three years of the county’s fire service.

A public consultation into Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service’s Integrated Risk Management Plan was launched in November and is due to close on Tuesday, January 27.

The plan, which runs until 2018, sets out how the organisation plans to reduce the amount of fires, crashes and other emergencies as well as the resulting injuries and impact.

The document, which the fire service is required by law to produce every three years, also includes plans to safeguard the environment and heritage of the area as well as provided value to the county’s taxpayers.

Gloucestershire County Council’s cabinet member for fire, planning and infrastructure Cllr Will Windsor Clive said the plan affected everyone in the county so it was important as many people as possible had a say.

“This is a great opportunity for people to give us their views and influence the fire service’s next three year plan,” he said.

“Our priority is keeping people safe and we need our fire service to reflect what local people need now.”

“It is something that affects everyone in Gloucestershire so please have your say before the consultation comes to an end on January 27th.”

Paper copies of the plan and questionnaires are available at any of the county’s libraries or online at www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/irmp.
