A NEW dormer bungalow is to be built in Upper Welland Road, Malvern, after planning permission was granted.
The application was discussed at a meeting of Malvern Hills District Council’s Southern Area Development Management Committee on Wednesday, March 18, where members heard concerns the site would result in the loss of green space in the area.
Cllr Jill Campbell said she understood concerns but did not feel there was a relevant planning-based reason to refuse the application.
“If we let this one through what happens next,” she said.
“But I really can’t find a reason not to agree with the officer’s recommendation to approve it.
“Let’s just hope we don’t get a flood after this.
“But if we do, we do.”
Members voted to approve the application.
