A REDDITCH care home has gone head to head with more than 1,800 care homes in the region to scoop a prestigious award.

For the second year running Brambles Residential Care Home in Birchfield Road, Headless Cross, has ranked top of the 17 care homes in Redditch, as well as coming second of the 217 homes in Worcestershire - based on recommendations.

The Sanctuary Care home has also come fifth out of 1,803 homes to scoop a Top 20 Recommended Care Homes West Midlands 2015 award from the leading guide to care homes carehome.co.uk.

The awards are based on the home’s recommendations from its residents, their loved ones and friends.

Home manager Margaret Hook said: “I am so proud for Brambles, our team and residents for winning such a special award for the second year running. We are always moved by the wonderful comments on carehome.co.uk, they means so much to us and are testament to the fantastic team we have here.”

After hearing about the award, resident Doreen Addyman, who is 90-years-old said: “It’s just marvellous - I’m very happy living here and they must all be so proud.”

In recognition of the win the home will be named on carehome.co.uk as a top rated home and will receive a certificate to display with pride.
