TWO students from Heart of Worcestershire College recently completed the Shakespeare Half Marathon.

Izzy Alborghetti and Nick Huins, currently studying on the college’s HND sports (coaching and development) course, completed the half marathon on Sunday, April 26 to raise money for The Shakespeare Hospice, an independent local charity providing specialist palliative day care.

Both students have been training with the in-house running club for the past three months in preparation for the marathon.

Speaking about the run Izzy said: "It was a very well organised event and Stratford should be proud. Running in beautiful landscapes and meeting amazing people was such a good experience. I have even arranged for my next half marathon."

College tutor Craig Strong added: “I’m very proud of the student’s dedication and perseverance over the past three months. This immense challenge and real life experience linked superbly with their higher education theory work."

Izzy and Nick made excellent time with both completing their runs under the two and half hour mark.

They will both go on to compete in the Birmingham half marathon in October.
