FOUR people have been taken to hospital following a crash in Worcester this morning.

Two cars were involved in the collision on Tunnel Hill and the road is still closed while police work on the scene.

Three ambulance crews and a paramedic, including police and fire crews, attended the scene at 10.18am and four people have been taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Ambulance staff arrived to find a car that had collided with a stationary vehicle.

“There were three patients in the car, all of whom managed to free themselves from the vehicle.

“A man in his 40s, a front seat passenger, suffered arm and shoulder injuries as well as cuts to his head. He was immobilised and given pain relief before being taken to Worcester Royal Hospital.

“A 17-year-old woman, who was a rear seat passenger, was treated for a lower left leg fracture. She was immobilised and also taken to Worcester Royal Hospital.

“The driver of the car, a man was uninjured in the incident.

“Debris from the collision also led to two bystanders suffering injuries, both women in their 70s. They were treated for minor head injuries before being taken to the same hospital.”

Rissvoy Scarrott, who has lived along Tunnel Hill since 1988 said: "I've seen a lot of crashes along this road but this is easily the worst I've ever seen. It was awful. I was shaking."
