CHER Lloyd's father has tried to ease tensions between residents and travellers on Pitmaston Park by asking people to go talk to them.

The group have told the county council they plan to leave tomorrow (Tuesday) evening after four caravans arrived on Friday followed by more across the weekend.

People living nearby said they had been plagued by anti-social behaviour including dirty nappies thrown into a garden and cars driving around through the night with horns sounding.

But Darren Lloyd, who lived in a caravan with wife Denise and daughter Cher for a year, took to the Worcester News Facebook page urging people to speak to them.

He said: "Instead of moaning about them and saying nasty things. Go and talk to them, they are not aliens they wouldn't attack you.

"You might be surprised. I'm just disappointed in people's attitude towards travellers."

Kelly Louise responded to say: "I agree they're not all horrible although some started shouting things at at a football team n the lads were only 11 I know this because one of the lads was my step son.

"They came onto the pitch where they were training and they had to call it off in the end because they were causing trouble- which is so wrong.

"But again I won't tarnish all of them with the same brush."

Mr Lloyd added: "Yea don't get me wrong some are idiots but show me a village that doesn't have its idiot."

Worcestershire County Council officers have been to visit the site and said they were continuing to follow the legal process to move the travellers on.

A spokeswoman said: "After receiving notification on Friday, officers have visited the site.

"The council is following the legal processes necessary to secure repossession of Pitmaston Park in as short a time as possible.

"Although we have been assured that this site will be vacated by tomorrow night (Tuesday), the council will continue to prepare the legal paperwork and will take further enforcement action if needed."
