A FATHER-of-three says he was stunned to walk in on a woman "looking around" his living room.

Ben Oseman came across the uninvited visitor on Monday evening as he was bathing two of his children.

His other child, a four-year-old, was in the living room when the woman gained entry to the first floor flat by climbing up a balcony.

Mr Oseman said he wasn't happy that the police took more than half an hour to arrive at his address in Villa Street, Hunderton, Hereford.

Officers have since said she mistook the property for her own home which is believed to be nearby. No action is expected to be taken.

Remarkably, Mr Oseman says a similar incident happened about four months ago, although not involving the woman who gained entry this time.

"I was bathing two of my kids at the time when I heard a noise in the front room," said Mr Oseman, who is 24.

"I thought it might have been my girlfriend who was at work at the time.

"I went into the room, where my four-year-old son was, and she was just looking around.

"She mouthed 'sssh' to my son.

"I managed to push her onto the balcony and called the police."

Mr Oseman said the woman then climbed down from the balcony and left, later telling police she mistook the property for her home, a claim the father doubts.

"There's a large Union Jack and two dogs on the balcony," he said.

The father said his family have lived in the property for two years but are fed-up of crime in the area, including drug dealing which he says regularly takes place outside.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said the matter had not been listed as a crime by the force, adding it was "a bit of a misunderstanding".

The spokesperson said South Wye's safer neighbourhood team was due to be informed.
