A Worcester student and mother-of-one is aiming to flex her muscles and force her way to the finals of Britain's Strongest Woman.

Natalie Rouse will be taking on all competitors during the Bodypower event, at Birmingham's NEC in May, for the title of Strongwoman Galaxy Champion Under 75kg.

If she wins, the 32 year-old will book her place at the British finals, which will go ahead in October.

The University of Worcester Human Nutrition pupil said: "I have been competing in Strong-woman contests for the last few years and have had some good successes.

"I also compete in body fitness contests, which is a real contradiction to strongman.

"Strongman is purely about being able to move objects around in the most efficient way, whereas body fitness is more concentrated on the toning of the muscles.

"There are a lot of misconceptions around these sort of contests for women and what is enjoyable for me is to talk to people about what they involve and help to break down some of those pre-judgements."

She is a fitness instructor in her hometown of Leominster, and combines her studies with running her own business and training.
