UPPER levels of a multi-storey car park in Halesowen are being closed at night to crackdown on anti-social behaviour.
The move follows a spate of drug taking with users leaving behind used needles and other debris over the last month.
Chamber of trade chairman Wayne Edwards said he hope the closure of levels two to five would put an end to the problem.
He said: “The upper levels have been in such a mess over the last month or so resulting in the car park being unsafe.
“The actions taken by Dudley Council will, hopefully, eradicate this happening in the future.”
The ground and first floors will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but from this week the upper levels are closed between 10.30pm and 8am and all day on Sundays.
The chamber first called for the upper levels to be closed a few years ago when it was being used as race track by scores of young drivers who regularly congregating there from a wide area.
