CELEBRITY baker Nadiya Hussain is set to host a masterclass at this year's Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival.

The winner of last year's Great British Bake Off will be at the event on Saturday, June 18 to teach visitors tips and tricks to help perfect their baking.

And the mum-of-three will also officially open the event on the Saturday morning.

Patrick Davis, who organises the popular event, is hoping Mrs Hussain will help attract even more people to Droitwich this summer.

He said: "We are thrilled to have secured Nadiya Hussain to join us for the day on Saturday 18 June.

"The Great British Bake Off has become hugely popular with an estimated 15 million people watching the final on BBC last Autumn.

"Having Nadiya with us will help to put Droitwich on the map and bring even more visitors to our beautiful town. And who knows, she may even inspire a new wave of bakers in the area."

Along with Mrs Hussain's baking class, which will be at the festival's demonstration kitchen, there will be street entertainment, more than 100 food and drink stalls and plenty of activities for children.

The food festival began in 2013 and last year attracted130 exhibitors, many of whom are local to the area, and an estimated 18,000 visitors.

This year's festivities will run from Saturday, June 18 to Sunday, June 19.
