NO Worcestershire schools were closed as a result of the kids' strike organised across the country to protest at primary school testing.
In Worcester, some schools reported one or two pupils kept at home as part of the strike organised by a campaign group called Let our kids be kids but the protest largely passed unmarked.
The group has called on parents to keep their children at home to put pressure on the government to scrap testing for six and seven year olds.
The campaigners believe some children are stressed by Key Stage 1 National Curriculum tests taken at the end of year 2 and that testing squeezes creativity out of school lessons.
Worcestershire County Council said it did not know many children in the county were kept at home but had not been informed of any school closures as a result of large numbers of missing children.
Some parents said they supported the campaign but could not take time off work to be with the children.
