ARMED police raided a property in Lodge Road, Redditch, yesterday following reports of a suspected firearm.
Police were called at about 3.20pm yesterday (Wednesday, July 26) by a member of the public who had seen a gun.
Officers attended the address and following a search of the property were satisfied that no offences had been committed and there was no danger to the public.
Inspector Darren Webster said:"I would like to reassure the community that the priority of all our officers is to protect the public from harm.
"This means taking appropriate action based on information received to address any potential threat as quickly and safely as possible. In this case the report was made in good faith, but the item was found to be for recreational use only.
"We will always take appropriate action based on the perceived level of threat and that was done in this instance."
