POLICE are investigating two serious sexual assaults - one of which took place in public toilets at a Worcester park.
The incidents took place in Swanpool Walk and in a public toilet cubicle at Cripplegate Park, yesterday (Friday).
A suspect was arrested today (Saturday) and remains in custody, while police say the victim is "being given all the support necessary".
West Mercia Police say the suspect and victim know each other.
Detective Inspector Dave Knight said: "The investigation is at an early stage. Police are working hard to work out what went on.
"The victim is safe and the suspect has been arrested.
"Both the suspect and victim know each other.
"We have dedicated a number of resources to this enquiry and the victim is being given all the support necessary.
"There is no danger to any member of the public."
It is not yet known what time the assaults took place, however the incidents were reported on Saturday.
At around 5.30pm on Saturday a forensics unit and police car were at the scene in Cripplegate Park.
Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in Cripplegate Park or Swanpool Walk yesterday (Friday) is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 498 s of July 30.
