FAMILIES enjoyed a fundraising event in Barnards Green over the weekend.
Fun in the Green took place on Saturday, (September 24), - the first of a series of exciting, family-friendly activities being planned by Barnards Green traders in the next few months.
The event featured a free magic and puppet show with Magic Russ and Dave the Wonder Dog, and a round of crazy golf.
It was the first time traders had hosted an event in September, and they are now planning their next event, for Halloween.
Taking place on Saturday, October 29, it will include a fancy dress competition, a giant blow-up assault course, pumpkin carving and lantern making workshop.
All events raise money for Community Action, which includes the Helping Hands scheme that befriends and supports vulnerable older residents.
Jane Knowles, chairman of the traders, thanked the district and town councils for their funding support and said as a group they were looking forward to future community events.
"It demonstrates how independent traders come together to support their local community," the chairman added.
