PUPILS learned what it takes to be a firefighter when a team from Gloucestershire Fire Service visited school.
Youngsters at Dormer House School, in Moreton, were shown the protective clothing firefighters wear, and a teacher was even persuaded to wear the outfit.
The fire crew used their friendly 'Colin the Collie' puppet to teach the nursery and year one children about fire safety, in particular the dangers of playing with matches.
And to round off the visit, the pupils were allowed to sit inside the cab of the fire engine, and even to try on the fire helmets.
