A DRIVER crashed into a pedestrian and a car as he fled a Malvern petrol station.

The driver, a white man in his 40s, hit the car and pedestrian as he drove off without paying at Sunnylodge BP garage in Worcester Road.

He then fled the scene.

The incident happened just before 7pm last night (Sunday January 22.)

Police were called after a red Ford KA hit a 27-year-old man on the forecourt of the petrol station who suffered minor leg and back injuries.

The man was treated at the scene.

The driver of the Ford KA is described as a white man in his 40s, of a slim build, 5ft 9ins tall and wearing a light brown, beanie hat.

The passenger was a white man in his 60s.

Mandie Flint, who passed the incident said: "Just driven through Malvern link 15 mins ago to see numerous police cars and a forensics van on the scene at the BP petrol station next to Francis of Malvern.

"Prior to that I had passed the same garage 90 mins earlier at 19.20 & witnessed a ambulance responding to a 999 call with flashing blue lights pulling onto the forecourt of the same garage.

"Definitely being treated as a crime scene."

A spokesman for BP said that the burglary happened on one of their dealership sites and that they do not own it or operate it.

Police investigating the incident are reviewing CCTV footage and would like to hear from anyone who might might have information which may help them with their enquiries.
