RENOWNED TV and film star David Bradley officially opened a new charity shop, supporting adults with learning disabilities, at Spernal Ash Nursey in Studley.

More than 100 people turned out for the opening of the new Where Next store in Alcester Road, which saw the actor, who has appeared in hit TV shows Games of Thrones and the popular Harry Potter movie series, cut the ceremonial ribbon and take a tour of the site.

Many people donated prizes for a tombola which raised more than £100 and volunteers manned a bouncy castle, face painting and tea and cake stalls to rake in further donations.

Business support manager Jo Wood said: "The weather was glorious and numbers exceeded 100 ranging from staff to clients, families and lots of new faces too.

"David spent a considerable time signing photos Harry Potter books, DVDs etc, which everyone was very excited about.

"We are very much hoping that this event has helped to put Where Next Spernal well and truly on the map, not only for the opportunities we offer to adults with learning difficulties, but also as a place to buy all your quality garden and gift requirements."

Where Next, a local charity established for over 30 years, provides meaningful day services in a real working environment with a family atmosphere.

The shop, which stocks quality summer bedding plans and hanging baskets all grown onsite by store assistants with learning disabilities, officially opened on Saturday, April 22.
