POLICE are investigating a robbery which happened outside a city supermarket in the early hours of the morning.

A man was chased by an offender in the St Martin's Quarter, Worcester, during the morning of Sunday, March 12.

The victim fell up a set of stairs leading to ASDA and was lying on the floor when the robber demanded he hand over his cash.

He threw an unknown amount of money onto the floor, asking the offender to leave him alone. The suspect then walked away in the direction of Lowesmoor.

The victim injured his leg in the attack and was treated at hospital.

West Mercia Police wants to speak to the man pictured in these CCTV images in connection with the offence.

A police spokesman said: "He is described as a black/mixed race male, mid 30's to 40's with a medium build. He was approximately 5' 6" to 5' 8" tall, with facial hair.

"He was dressed in smart wear including a suit jacket and trilby hat.

"If you know the person in the photo or have any information in relation to this incident please call West Mercia Police."
