AN autistic woman set out to prove that 'having a disability doesn't stop you doing things' during a 100 mile charity cycle.

Louisa Summer, 48, from near Shrub Hill in Worcester completed the challenge by doing a four piers trek from Dover to Brighton taking in Hastings, Eastbourne and Folkstone over four days.

She said: "I did the cycle for the National Autistic Society as being autistic myself I get a lot of help from them and I wanted to give something back, most people don't understand what autism is.

"I wanted to show that having a disability does not stop you doing things.

"It was nice to take in some really nice views along the way.

"I did not find the challenge too tough as I have done these distances before."

She has nearly reached her target of £1,000, after riding two weeks ago and will tally up her final amount on August 2.

She has undertaken a number of cycling challenges in the past for the National Autistic Society including going from Weston-super-Mare’s Grand Pier, stopping overnight in Bristol and then completing the one hundred mile journey back to Worcester via country roads.

She did the opposite route the year before.
