A WRITER and former teacher is launching a new support group for budding authors in Halesowen.

Paul Walsh, who has also been a university lecturer, currently attends the Old Swinford Writers group in Stourbridge, but he is looking to provide similar support to new writers in Halesowen.

He said: “Many people aspire to articulate their creative ideas through writing. Whether through the medium of poetry, non-fiction or story, the group will provide encouragement to help new writers develop their skills.”

The first meeting of the new group will take place on Thursday, July 26, between 4.30pm and 5.30pm at Halesowen Library.

Paul is also launching his debut novel ‘A Place Between the Mountains’, this month. Set in Nepal, he describes his work as “a tale about the challenge of change, across the barriers of ethnicity and sexuality”.

There will be a book launch at the library on Saturday, July 21y, between noon and 2pm, where Paul will be available to sign copies of his book.
