A SPARKLY cream tea event has raised a tasty £850 for the mayor of Redditch’s charities.
Councillor Juliet Brunner recently hosted the event at Botany Bay, in Astwood Bank, where owners Gary and Debbie Kinley, and daughter Kelly, closed the premises for the occasion.
As well as laying on Prosecco, cream cakes, and cuppas, the kind-hearted family also donated prizes for a raffle at the event which boosted the coffers in aid of Bowel Cancer UK, Royal British Legion, and Sandycroft Well-Being Centre.
Mayor Brunner said: “I’m really grateful that Debbie and Gary supported my tea party and helped me raise a whopping £850. It was a wonderful spread and my guests enjoyed it immensely."
