A CHARITY which helps young people gain qualifications and find work has found a new base after its lease ended.

In March, Horizon Training issued a plea for help to find a new home after being told it had to move from where it is currently based in Whitecross Road in Hereford.

Charity bosses had made the building fit-for-purpose for the courses which they run for 16 to 19-year-olds.

But they only rented the building and were told by the owners that they had to get out by the end of June as the premises had been sold.

This has been extended but by August 30 they have to leave the building which has a community cafe at the front called Cranfield's Cafe.

Patricia Hales, chairwoman of trustees, said: "We are moving to units at Foley Trading Estate but they won't be ready until September 14.

"We have to be out of Whitecross Road on August 30 so the packing is underway and I am drawing up action plans to cover students and staff for a two week period until we get into the new place."

Horizon Training runs courses in beauty, construction, catering, health and sports.

The courses result in qualifications to help find work.

They see around 70 to 80 young people every year and they also have 15-year-olds in for one day a week who are struggling at school.
