WALKERS will be raising cash for Evesham Vale Cardiac Rehab (EVCR) next month.

The walk will take place on Sunday, September 9, going through the Vale countryside and riverside, starting and finishing at The Valley car park near the steam train ticket office.

Cardiac Rehab is the process whereby those who have suffered a heart attack or are suffering heart disease are encouraged to reach their full potential in terms of physical and psychological health.

This is done through structured programmes of exercise, education, and advice.

Evesham Vale Cardiac Rehab was established seven years ago to serve those living in Evesham and surrounding towns and villages.

Gerry O’Donnell, from EVCR, said: "This year we will be walking through the riverside paths and fields of The Valley. The walk will be guided, and all are welcome, including the family dog.

"We are raising funds towards the purchase of specialist exercise bikes, which will be used in our new home at Evesham Leisure Centre extension.

"After walking, the coffee shops and retail outlets await the walkers.

"We want a record number this year - soo come along to the car park by the Railway Ticket office at 10.30am, and register."

Entry for adults costs £5, £2 for under 12s.
