WATER company Severn Trent is holding a community meeting before it begins a £830,000 improvement project near Malvern.

The company is replacing 10 kilometres of water pipes to improve the water network, and wants to meet with the community to explain how they’ll be working, and what benefits it will bring to those who live in Berrow, at the southern end of the Malvern Hills.

Catherine Webb from Severn Trent said: “We know how important it is that our customers always have water when they need it.

"That’s why projects like this really matter as by replacing our water pipes, we’re preventing them from bursting and causing problems for anyone.

“This project is making sure our water network is of top quality, meaning our customers can have a reliable water supply for years to come.”

Members from Severn Trent and working partners Watertight Management will be at the Berrow and Pendock Village Hall, Berrow, on Wednesday, October 30, from 4pm till 7pm.

The team will be on hand to answer any questions about the project, and show where work will be taking place and any traffic management that might be needed.

“It’d be great to see as many of those who will benefit from the project there as possible, as it’s a great opportunity for us to show you where and how we will be working.

“We know that this type of work can cause some disruption, so we want everyone to be in the know about where we’ll be and when so there’s as little inconvenience caused as possible,” she said.

Severn Trent will begin renewing the water pipes at the beginning of November, and expect to be completed by May 2020.

The first stage of work will see work begin on the A438 at the junction with Chadds Lane going along Whiting Hill Lane to the junction of B4208.

“When we’ve finished this project next year, everyone living in the area will be able to benefit from the project, and enjoy a water supply that they can trust for years to come,” she said.
