POPULAR tourist attractions across the Cotswolds will be opening their doors to visitors at special cheap rates as part of the Welcome Open Weekend.

Among the destination taking part in the promotion are Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park at Guiting Power, near Cheltenham, Birdland Park and Gardens, Bourton-on-the-Water, Sudeley Castle at Winchcombe and Fairytale Farm, near Chipping Norton.

The Welcome Open Weekend (WOW) offers local residents and visitors special two-for-one entry deals from Friday, March 31, to Sunday, April 2, at participating attractions.

Also taking part are Tewkesbury Abbey, the Nature in Art Gallery and Museum in Gloucester, Blenheim Palace, Cogges Manor Farm at Witney, Rousham House and Garden near Bicester and the Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum at Woodstock,

Cllr Chris Hancock, Cotswold District Council's cabinet member for tourism, said: “This is a great opportunity for residents and visitors to get out and about to sample some of the many attractions on their doorstep at knock-down prices. It promises to be a great family weekend with something for everyone.”

To take advantage of these discounts, residents just need to pick up a voucher sheet, which is available from the visitor information centres or council reception points in the Cotswold or West Oxfordshire districts.
