A FANTASY artist is bringing his work to the region.

Rodney Matthews, a major name in the fantasy art genre, is bringing his 'Alice in Wonderland and other tales' to Bourton.

Mr Matthews' work on show will also include Peter Pan, The Wind in the Willows and Lord of the Rings.

He said: "It is great for art students, you can come along and chat about the work or just to have a look at it.

"Alice (In Wonderland) is the main theme but there will also be some of my other work."

An array of full colour originals, pencil sketches, fine art prints and souvenir gifts will be on display and available to purchase.

Mr Matthews is particularly famous for his record cover designs for rock and metal bands, including Asia, Magnum, Rick Wakeman, Nazareth, and Praying Mantis.

In total he has painted over 130 subjects for record album covers.

More than 90 of his pictures have been published worldwide, selling in poster format, as well as many international editions of calendars, jigsaw puzzles, postcards, notecards, snowboards and T-shirts.

He has also illustrated many fantasy novels, designed computer games and even had his own children's animated series Lavender Castle with the late Gerry Anderson who was behind Thunderbirds.

His career has spanned across 50 years.

The exhibition will be at Victoria Hall from Friday August 18 to Monday August 21 from 10.30am until 5pm and it is free to enter.
