BURMINGTON and the surrounding villages of Tidmington and Barcheston are opening their doors as part of the country's largest arts and heritage festival.
From Thursday until Sunday they will be open for Heritage Open Days, a festival taking place this week.
Burmington which lies on the river Stour close to Moreton-in-Marsh and Shipston-on-Stour boasts a Manor House which was build in the 13th Century.
The owner, Michael Macdonald, an antiquitarian, has carefully restored it over the last 30 years and will be personally taking groups around.
The parish church, thought also to be built in the 13th Century is situated next to the Manor, with a Grade II listed timber-framed granary just a short walk along the main street.
The equally historically interesting churches in the next door villages of Tidmington and Barcheston will be open as well and there will be refreshments available in Burmington Village Hall.
This weekend co-insides with Ride and Stride, a sponsored bike ride or walk in which people all over England walk or cycle between churches, exploring and enjoying the countryside.
