NEW Street in Ledbury will be closed for a fantasy festival this May, but visitors will still need to watch out for unicorns.

Living, breathing unicorns are being promised for an event that will also see a return to Ledbury of the celebrated Gothic fantasy artist Anne Stokes.

The early work of Anne Stokes was a feature of the successful role playing game, Dungeons and Dragons.

She has been an acclaimed fantasy artist since 2000, and she has also designed album covers, including for the Norwegian Gothic metal band, Sirenia.

This will be her second visit to Ledbury and the New Street shop, Enchant and Allure.

Organiser Helen Moody of Enchant and Allure said: "Visitors will have the opportunity to meet with Anne and even see and purchase some of her artwork that has never been released before.

"And world class sculptor and artist John Woodward will also be available on the day with limited edition Dragon sculptures, produced exclusively for this event."

Miss Moody, who organised a Halloween festival last October, followed by a Christmas Festival, also in New Street, added: "The Realm of Fantasy Festival will be opening at 10am on Saturday May 19 with a variety of fantasy themed stalls, selling an array of quality delights, and delicious food stalls.

"There will be lots to see and do, with face paining, glitter tattoos, hair sparkles, henna body art and so much more."

Miss Moody added: "Fairy costumes including wands and wings will be available on the day, along with beautiful flower headbands.

"A very tall fairy will be there to greet you, and you may even catch a glimpse of a unicorn or two!"
