A TAXI driver was threatened with a machete-type knife by a passenger who he had just picked up.
Police said on Sunday, January 21 shortly before 3am two males were collected by a taxi in Waterfield Road in Newton Farm, Hereford.
The taxi driver travelled around three metres before he was threatened by the passengers, one of whom was believed to be holding a machete-type knife.
The two males then stole the keys to the taxi and ran away.
The driver suffered minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
A 17-year-old boy from Hereford was arrested on suspicion of robbery and following questioning has been released under investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the attack or have further details is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 97s of 21 January 2018 or asked to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111. Officers are also looking for anyone who saw someone using the telephone box in Kilvert Road, Hereford just before 2.55am to book the taxi.
