MANY people in Herefordshire felt the effects of an earthquake at the weekend despite the epicentre being 12 miles north of Swansea.
The earthquake had a 4.4 magnitude at a depth of 4.6 miles on Saturday afternoon.
A Leominster resident took a reading on his Raspberry Shake, a personal seismograph, which showed how the earthquake was detected in the county.
The earthquake could be seen on the graph arriving moments after the event.
The hobbyist device can be used to detect earthquakes, fracking, local traffic or even crowd noise from a football stadium.
The British Geographical Survey tweeted: “Events of this magnitude only happen in the UK every two to three years.”
Residents in Herefordshire reported feeling the earthquake, while many were left blissfully unaware.
