POLICE were forced to close a Halloween party in a village hall that got out of control.
Problems began at Withington Village Hall, near Hereford, because there was "inadequate adult supervision" of about 100 youths.
There was a considerable amount of alcohol consumed.
A police spokesman said: “It is believed that details of the event had been circulated by some attendees on social media causing far more than expected to arrive.
“On police arrival it was necessary to close the event for the safety of those involved and the surrounding community.
“The event is another unfortunate reminder to areas with village halls that stringent regulations must be put in place when outside bookings are made.”
