A MAN had to be cut out of a car after a crash in Netherton.

The two car smash happened at the junction of Marlow Close and Bowling Green Road at 3.43pm on Thursday (September 21).

Firefighters had to remove the roof of one of the vehicles to free the 41-year-old, who complained of back and neck pain.

He was given pain relief and taken to Russells Hall Hospital, along with the shaken 80-year-old man who was driving the other car.

The Midlands Air Ambulance was at the scene but both men were taken to hospital by land ambulance.
