A KINGSWINFORD schoolgirl is hoping to hoping to impress music industry bigwigs when she takes to the stage in the semi finals of a national competition for unsigned acts.
Singer, songwriter and guitarist Mollie Hickman, a student at The Kingswinford School, has made it through to the South West and Midlands area final of the 2017 Open Mic UK contest.
The talented teenager, aged 14, from Pensnett, will be performing in front of thousands of people, including music industry representatives and talent scouts, at Birmingham’s NEC on Saturday November 25.
If successful, she will go through to the grand final taking place at the NEC on January 20 2018.
Recording studio time to record a debut album and a host of other coveted music related prizes are up for grabs for the overall winner of the competition - which more than 10,000 aspiring singers across the country enter each year.
