A MALVERN-based camera club is once again looking for budding young snappers to enter its Young Photographer of the Year competition.

The competition, now in its fourth year, is being run in partnership with Worcestershire County Council, and is open to children and young people up to the age of 19, who are in full-time education in the county.

The competition is proving to be a resounding success, so get those cameras out and start snapping. Prizes are being finalised and will be announced soon," said Trevor Bell of the club.

“Everyone has a photograph that they take and think ‘wow, that’s really good, or arty or just takes your breath away’.

“This competition aims to help children and young people across the county to share and celebrate the achievement of

their perfect picture.”

The competition has three age categories: primary, lower secondary and upper secondary, and there are four prizes per category.

Photographs can be of any subject, and each entrant can submit up to three images. Entries have to be made on-line and must be submitted by midnight on Saturday, February 28.

The 50 highest-scoring entrants and their families will be invited to attend a special judging and prize-giving evening, which will be held on Tuesday, April 21, at Bishop Perowne School in Worcester.
