A NEW company is to take over the job of maintaining and repairing the sewer network across Worcestershire.

Public and regulated services provider Amey has been awarded a £250 million contact to take over the waste water element of the Severn Trent Water network from Monday, June 1.

Head of operations at Severn Trent Peter Collins said there would be no disruption to services while the handover to Amey was carried out.

“We want to reassure our customers that the move to a new contact partner should be seamless,” he said.

“Amey will be taking over all work from Monday, so anything that was planned in with our previous contractor or is outstanding will be handed over and dealt with by them.

“So you may see a different van, or different people dealing with a job, but you can be confident that work will continue as before.”

For any questions about current or future sewer work to be carried out across the region call 08000 224 338.

Water or sewer-related emergencies can be reported to Severn Trent 24 hours a day on 0800 783 4444.
