REDDITCH residents are being invited join a new free pre-employment training scheme at a town design and manufacturing company.

Heartbeat UK, a company specialising in retail display innovation, is starting a 16-week program at its Training Academy providing introductory skills and work experience in the engineering field to unemployment people aged 19 to 64.

The course which is running from the Arthur Street site, has 10 places available, will cover carpentry, shop fitting, warehouse and storage training, engineering and manufacturing, fabrication and welding, English, maths and employment support, 16 days’ work experience, job search support, and fully certified Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card assistance.

The Training Academy has an 83.5 per cent pass rate into work and provides progression opportunities and full apprenticeships in the company.

The course, which receives Government grants, is set to start on Tuesday, May 9.
A spokesman for Heartbeat UK said: "The Training Academy works with people aged 19 plus to develop skills and experience to progress into full-time employment or further training in the sector.

"We work with a number of employers who are looking to develop the next generation of their work force.

"We deliver traineeships and apprenticeship relating to skilled trades."
