NONE of the eight high-rise buildings in Worcestershire have the same type of cladding that was used on Grenfell Tower.

Many have speculated that the cladding on the London tower block was responsible for the rapid spread of the blaze.

The fire service said the three tower blocks in Worcester and the five high-rise buildings in Kidderminster use a different type of cladding.

Some 79 people are presumed dead as a result of the tragic fire, which erupted on Wednesday, June 14.

A spokesman for Premier Inn said the cladding on their hotels in Malvern and Worcester is also different to the type used on Grenfell Tower.

The spokesman added that the safety of guests is a priority and that an independent fire expert had assured them all their hotels are safe.

There are fire safety measures and procedures in place at all Premier Inn hotels and each bedroom has a fire detector and an alarm.
