BROMSGROVE residents can help crack down on hate crime this week as part of National Hate Crime Awareness Week.

From October 14 to 21, North Worcestershire Hate Incident Partnerships are putting on pop up information shops and raise awareness of hate crime.

In Bromsgrove, there will be a pop up event on the High Street on Tuesday, October 17, from 11am to 2pm, offering advice and information from professionals, information leaflets, and special ‘say no to hate crime’ wristbands.

As well as the information stall, residents will also get the opportunity to learn about hate crime interactively with street theatre provided by Zoe Haworth Company.

Cllr Margaret Sherrey, Bromsgrove District Council’s portfolio holder for health, wellbeing and community safety said: “Whilst the message behind Hate Crime Awareness week is a very serious one, it doesn’t mean that we can’t all learn about it in an interesting and interactive way. If you’re shopping in the Town Centre, grab a leaflet or watch a street theatre performance and help us crack down on hate crime.”
