IT’S cabaret time for youngsters from WODYS - Worcester Operatic and

Dramatic Society Youth Section - as they take their annual show on the road.

Residents of retirement complexes, residential homes and hospices, along

with members of local Women’s Institutes and churches are among those being entertained by the youngsters, aged 12 to 17.

They have been performing in a cabaret entitled Disney Through The

Ages.

Audiences were wowed with songs such as When You Wish Upon A Star, from Pinocchio, I Wanna Be Like You, from The Jungle Book, and A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes, from Cinderella.

This year’s show has been produced and choreographed by former WODY Lydia Healy, who is now a singing teacher, married with a daughter.

Among those entertained were residents of the Meadow Court Retirement Village, in Worcester.

There, Pam Pincott also who won a prize for joining in with the youngsters as they performed I Wanna Be Like You.

Besides being in the cabaret, the youngsters are rehearsing for their next show, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers.

They, along with the rest of WODYS’ 65 members, aged 8 to 18, will be performing that show at Worcester’s Swan Theatre, from Tuesday to Thursday,

July 31 to August 4.
