UPDATE: Lane 3 has now been re-opened for trapped traffic.
A Highways England tweet said: "We've now opened up lane 3 on the #M5 southbound between J3-J4 past the burnt out HGV.
"This is for trapped traffic ONLY. We have a gritter en-route to treat lanes 1 & 2 which have been affected by water used to extinguish the fire. Carriageway remains closed to all other traffic."
MAIN STORY: A LORRY fire has blocked the M5 between junction 3 and junction 4 near Bromsgrove.
The road is currently closed southbound, with fire crews in attendance.
Thick smoke was seen billowing from the lorry.

"The fire brigade continue efforts to dampen down the vehicle. Due to the freezing temperatures, the carriageway will require gritting before we can reopen and let any traffic past."
