BROMSGROVE will welcome a new eatery at the start of December when the Toby Carvery in Marlbrook transforms into a Miller & Carter steakhouse, creating 50 new jobs.

Owners Mitchells & Butlers will shut the Birmingham Road site in late October to convert it into its Miller & Carter brand – described on its website as the “home of the steak geek”.

A spokesman on behalf of the company told the Advertiser: “We can confirm that as part of Mitchell’s & Butlers commitment to continually review its estate, Toby Carvery Marlbrook will be converting to a new Miller & Carter steakhouse this year.

“The carvery will be closing towards the end of October and we can’t wait to introduce locals to our exciting new restaurant.”

The news follows months of speculation Mitchells & Butlers was looking to turn the Toby Carvery into its popular steakhouse brand.

Rumours first circulated in January, although at the time the firm denied they had plans to make the move – but did leave the door open for redevelopment in the future.

The change in brand comes as part of a commitment by Mitchells & Butlers to complete around 300 remodels of restaurant chains in their UK portfolio this year.
